AF assist works in both RX and TX units. That's quite useful in dark environment when you need more light sources to focus, in different angles from the RX units.
Just received my V6 II today. It's working great so far and as advertised.
Love my first generation V6 and time to upgrade for V6 II. Cactus costumer support is one of the best you can find out there.
The V6 II uses multi-system shoe that supports cross-brand camera and flash system, including Pentax. The wireless HSS works with Pentax already. With V6II, Pentax camera is capable to trigger in HSS with Canon, Nikon , Olympus and Pentax system flashes.
I've kept up with my research and found that with a reasonable amount of certainty.
Have you guys tested whether if HSS and PowerSync will work with the Nikon D3x00 and D5x00 series? Nikon only puts HSS on higher end models, so I'm wondering if the Force HSS feature can override this limitation on the lower models.
Hi, I received mine today. I was planing to use it with my Olympus E-PL6. It worked great in HSS with the camera system on "Olympus" and flash mode in "manual". I was shooting with a Godox TT600. But I don't know why it only worked with the E-PL6 with the 14-42mm kit lens. I tried to use a Rokinon 85mm manual lens with a dumb adapter(completly manual without electronic contacts) and with the cactus set to on it never fired and freezed the menu settings on the camera, when I turned it off were able to use my camera without problems. Please can you check if it is a firmware problem that can be solved. I think the cactus its depending on reading something from the lens. Cause I tried without lens too and had the same problem. It never fired.
I have V6 II and two RF60. Works great on Olympus M5 Mark II. I change the system on Canon 5D Mark III and 6D, I update the firmware to the latest but wont fire the flashes. I'm very dissapointed for poor support of Cactus.
For Olympus E-M1, the hot shoe is thicker than other Olympus camera models. It may cause connection issue with Cactus V6 II. If that is the case, please remove the Olympus E-M1 Hot Shoe Metal Spring. Click below link for the video instruction,
Perhaps I need to experiment more.. I have the V6II and RF60. I was shooting at 1:1 Forced HSS and Power Sync to compare the difference.
On most of his outside images subject's skin was blown out. Also, he should have added gels on top of the speedlite at night so that the subject doesn't have cold skin tone... Now Cactus send me a V6 II and a RF60X (or 2 x V6 II) so I can demonstrate how HSS should be used :)
