Glad that was useful!!! Those we are talking about are most usually discarded for use for any practical, real purpose at present. And yes, they are quite limited, but you can get more life into them than most people would expect from a machine over a decade old (usually way into the electronic rubbish level when it comes to computing).
I have pretty much the same config as that laptop other than the processor. I have the 4750 (I think) and it works ok. Mine has the Pentium 4 1.6 512MB 40GB. The CPU Fan died though, It gets hot but never overheats. I rarely use it. I have the same problem with the hinge. These preform well for 10 year old laptops. Mine was 2001 as well.
Loving the videos and keep up the good work.
Cheers.
I loved the trac point I missed it after NCR took my thinkpad back and replaced it with a DELL laptop. I used it all the time it was a real shame I could not buy it I heard they were all sold in a bulk auction . It a shame when companies do that.
It's hard to find at your store around the corner, but quite easy on ebay. Just ordered a pair of sticks for an old-as-hell Latitude c600. Cheapest offers are from Hong Kong sellers, though, and you have to be patient: shipment takes a lot. One exception is koybe-inc, it ships from California. Btw, I'm Spanish, so this canNOT possibly be spam, just an example I've found.
Somehow, missed this video, wow, that's one ill looking dell :o(
Yes, after years of use, somebody would think that my laptops had never been used as I use a usb keyboard and trackball, never really touch the laptop :o)
Came out looking good :o) Never owned a dell laptop, always had hps, but do like them :o) Is it the XPs that was the performance one? If you could get your hands on one of them, that would be interesting to see :o)
So my Dell Inspiron 600m (model PP05L) is actually a Pentium 3? That is really interesting considering the machine is from 2004. It has a 1.5ghz pentium M 715 processor and is soon going to get a 765 2.1ghz along with 2gb of ram. I'm actually really surprised this thing is as quick as it is, knowing now that it is a pentium 3 based system.
i had a desktop computer and it was decent i sold it to my uncle and i don't even miss it haha
hi, good video :) do you know how you get into the bios system on a dell pp01l?
We need this intro with this music to comeback but modernized for future videos.
Oh and I HATE that cursor problem! I had it on my second & third Dell laptops. So annoying. I would have cut the cable if I knew how to take apart the keyboard.
That's actually a Lattitude c600, however mine still says PP01L on the bottom, but when i looked up the service tag it Said it was a c600. It also says C600 when it boots up.
I agree with people not knowing about trackpoints. My ThinkPad L512 has one and I have lost count of the number of people that ask what it is when I'm sitting using my laptop!
Yo tambien tengo una laptop dell de ese modelo sistema operativo Windows 98 second edition
The HD might have been a factory replacement? I just opened one and it had the exact same HD. I know for a fact the one in mine was not replaced
@skypedog221 i wouldn't say that is a good deal.. i got a Samsung n310 netbook from craigslist for like 80 bucks and it has 802.11n, 160gb hdd, 1.66 atom cpu, 10.1 screen.. etc... much better than a 12 year old laptop.
@talldude123 It has an XP COA. Too new to be a C600. I had a C600 with a Windows 98SE COA. Maybe a C610 (P3) or C640 (P4)?
What do u mean "sorry guys?" I want all the Dell I can get! LOL
@AlfredRusselWallace I am sorry I should have given a little more info I was working for NCR National Cash Register at the time when ATT bought it and called it ATT-GIS and a few years later was sold back to NCR . I was given a laptop from the first day I went to work for them in the late 80s I was given a dell laptop the a Panasonic touphbook
and was told all the dells were sold in a bulk auction . I am now disabled from that company after I was working on a ATM and hit by a van .
sir.may i ask you something and need help?i have problem with sound card, same model Dell latitude PP01L,.if i wan to play music.no sound came out..it like the hardware or driver not install.or maybe damage..can i know where the sound card on bord?
